A Victorian 19th century paper mache desktop blotter. A Victorian writing accessory like a small folio with inlaid mother of pearl design. Constructed from a dark polished lacquer and often may have been used to lay letters with ink to dry. The upper right corner is bumped and the hinge is severely cracked from the bottom and the top making this piece very fragile. It does contain one piece of matching pink deco paper on the inside of the folder that is folded inside. Size: 9 7/8 x 7”.
