An antique silhouette that is framed in a black frame that is ready to hang with a round hook at the top. There is antique round glass protecting the art inside and a round metal ring around the glass. Please note the glass does not fit perfectly in the frame and there is a gap at the top or the glass can be moved around and adjusted, but does hold firmly inside the frame. This is a depiction of a male side profile with a high-collar coat and neck cloth. The silhouette is on dark toned paper. There is hardware affixed to the top with a grape fruit and leaf design and faded gilt. There is chipping on the frame in both upper corners with exposed brown underneath (see photos). The female silhouette that came with this frame was dated '98 (presumed 1898).
The back likely reads, George Blacker, son of Latham Blacker of Glenkeen Derry. We do not have historical records of these individuals, nor we know when this portrait was produced, where or by whom.
